Accessibility Policy Overview

The National Literacy Coalition and its affiliates and subsidiaries (National Literacy Coalition) is committed to facilitating the accessibility of its websites, applications, and online services to all visitors, including people with disabilities. The National Literacy Coalition is actively making efforts to maintain and increase the accessibility of its website, www.thenlc.org, to ensure that those with disabilities have full and equal enjoyment of its goods, services, facilities, privileges, advantages, and accommodations.

The National Literacy Coalition is adopting and implementing procedures to the relevant portions of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA (WCAG 2.1 AA) as its web accessibility standard for its websites. It continues to make such compliance of its websites a key focus of its design efforts. These efforts have also brought the National Literacy Coalition into further conformance with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

The National Literacy Coalition continues to conduct periodic website accessibility audits and incorporate ongoing and specific recommendations to facilitate and strengthen accessibility for the site’s conformance with current WCAG 2.1 AA standards. The National Literacy Coalition tests and confirms the accessibility of each update, if applicable, and periodically thereafter to monitor and test for conformity to WCAG 2.1 AA, Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and other accessibility guidelines. The National Literacy Coalition uses manual, functional, and technical methods to conduct the evaluations, which include people with disabilities, to enhance the digital user experience for people of all abilities.
